International services

Tredea's objective is to strengthen the international appeal of the Tampere region. Tredea promotes the consturction of different approaches to international co-operation with regions, which are significant to the Tampere region.

As the Finnish population is ageing rapidly, the internationalization of labour force is a strengthening trend in Finland. For its part, the phenomenon is patching up the availability of skilled labour in companies and public sector. Tredea co-operates with both private and public sector employers in issues related to internationalizing labour force, in addition to which Tredea’s Live-programme also promotes the region as an attractive place for all to live and work. At the same time, preparedness of the work communities and the region as a whole to receive international skills has to be supported. Tampere central region is being further developed as an area where all newcomers, both Finnish and foreigners, find it pleasant and smooth to settle down, and where the employers and employees find their matches easily. Services for International Skills –Project, which operates in Tredea, gathers up the information and services needed to fully utilise the international labour force in the region.

Also the marketing of the region supports the internationalisation development. In this development one of the region's most important person is the Tampere region EU liaison manager with the task of lobbying, acquisition of the EU funding and the promotion of the international contacts of the region.
